Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using ChoreQuest ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

Description of Service

ChoreQuest is a family chore management application that provides:

• Gamified chore tracking and management
• Virtual coin reward system
• AI-generated chore images
• Push notifications
• Family member management
• Custom family URLs and PWA apps

Account Registration

To use ChoreQuest, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old or have parental consent
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Be responsible for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

Subscription and Payments

Free Trial

New accounts receive a 30-day free trial. No credit card is required to start your trial.

Paid Subscriptions

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected
• All payments are processed securely through PayFast
• Prices are listed in South African Rand (ZAR)
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled

AI Image Tokens

• AI image generation requires tokens
• Tokens can be purchased separately
• Tokens are non-refundable and non-transferable
• 1 token = 1 chore image (before and after pair)

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months.

User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the Service only for lawful purposes
• Not share inappropriate content through the Service
• Not attempt to breach security or interfere with the Service
• Supervise children's use of the Service
• Not reverse engineer or copy any part of the Service
• Respect intellectual property rights

AI-Generated Content

• AI-generated images are created using OpenAI's DALL-E 3
• Images are for personal, non-commercial use within your family
• We do not guarantee the accuracy or appropriateness of AI-generated content
• You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before use
• Inappropriate prompts or content generation is prohibited

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by ChoreQuest and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of content you create (family data, chore descriptions, etc.), but grant us a license to use it to provide the Service.

Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We collect and use information in accordance with that policy.

Service Availability

We strive to provide uninterrupted service but do not guarantee:

• The Service will be available at all times
• The Service will be error-free
• Any defects will be corrected immediately

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChoreQuest shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the Service, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
